Defending Angels

Author: Mary Stanton

Series/Book #: Beaufort & Company Mysteries - Book 1

Brief Description off the Back of Book: Brianna Winston-Beaufort is taking over her uncle's law practice in the most haunted city in the world - Savannah. While renovations are made, Bree rents space in an old house located in the middle of an all-murderers' cemetery. Her first case comes from local businessman, Benjamin Skinner, who somehow manages to call Bree hours after his suspicious death. Bree is mystified, but everyone around her thinks this is business as usual. Her landlady, her secretary, and even an attractive PI seem to know more about Bree's new practice than she does. Skinner needs their help to find his murderer and prove his innocence against the charge of Greed, which comes from the mightiest hand of law - the Celestial Court. And the verdict in this case could put Bree's life on the line, as well as her client's afterlife....

My Thoughts on the Book: LOVED IT!! The characters are amazing and the world that Stanton creates that connects our world with the world of the angels is amazing. As soon as I finished it I requested book 2 from the library. Can't wait to read it as well.

Hex Marks the Spot

Author: Madelyn Alt

Series/Book #: A Bewitching Mystery - Book 3

Brief Description: While her boss becomes entranced with a beautiful armoire at the countywide craft bazaar, Maggie can't help noticing the Amish craftsman who made it. Though his clothes may be plain, he himself is more handsome than a man sporting a jawline-only beard has any right to be. And he seems pretty aware that the ladies love his...furniture. But when the hunky craftsman turns up dead with a strange hex symbol near his corpse, Maggie wonders if the craft involved is the witchy kind.
