Back Cover: “That’s what friends do for each other!” Or so Chelsea Davison believes. When her parents take away her car keys, she has to find another way to get to the movies, to practice, and to her humiliating part-time job. Enter Denny Waddell, a loser from school who happens to have a car… and a crush on Chelsea. Even though she is repulsed by Denny’s feelings, Chelsea is more than happy to take advantage of her new personal chauffeur. But she isn’t the only one using someone else… Will Chelsea ever learn that it’s not all about her?
My Thoughts: It was an okay book, however I got a real good luck at what the teenage me was really like. A lot of the things that Chelsea said came floating back out of my past. It was an uncomfortable eye opener to see that I really wasn’t that pleasant back in the day. “Do you really think you could hurt me?” she[Chelsea] said. “I’d have to have cared a lot about you for that to happen. I’m not hurt, Devon. I’m just mad.” This was all said after she found out her boyfriend Devon had been using her for his own gain. She than promptly ran to her room and cried. That was where I had the eye opener. I remember saying almost the exact same thing a few times through high school.
